How High Can You Count?
Think of that number and then double it. That’s how many Scouts have benefitted
from Camp Nooteeming and its rich Scouting program.
Wouldn’t it be great if the list of volunteers pitching in to maintain
and improve the camp was as high? It can.
Consider volunteering your time and skills to Camp Nooteeming!
Some units choose to adopt a campsite, others prompt members of their unit
to get involved with the Nooteeming Properties Committee, others just help
out where they can. Camp Nooteeming has endless opportunities for service
custom-cut to your youngest Cub right on up to your most skilled adult leader.
Take a few minutes to fill out a resource survey so as to communicate your
skills to the committee and sign up for Camp Nooteeming mailing lists. E-mail
Properties Chairman Mike Kelsey or Camp Facilities Manager, Ranger Daryl
Bucknor to learn how you can help.
Nooteeming needs laborers and benefactors but it also needs people to promote
the camp and it’s successful delivery of the Scouting program; and to
represent Nooteeming’s needs to local businesses, and civic-minded community
groups. We have a role for you to fill.
Camp Nooteeming thanks you in advance.
Lagrangeville’s Troop 82 enjoyed camping in the
Taconic Lean-tos so much -- they chose to adopt it.
In 2003, they built a fourth lean-to and an ax yard.
They were back in 2004 to remove the dilapidated
latrine. 2005 plans include building the camp’s first
low maintenance composting latrine and a cooking
pavilion. |
